The Chinese porcelain vase is a ubiquitous object in most Egyptian homes. Some families can afford the highest quality, others have only modest versions, but one can almost always count on it being there. During the January 25th uprisings, I drew inspiration from emblematic objects that constitute the character of the typical Egyptian home. On them, I incorporated the words and chants repeated from every corner during one of the most important periods of Egyptian modern history.
