Learning from Macao (2021)

12.5 x 26.2 m

Every city is a great resource for creativity. As an internationally renowned city for its gaming industry, Macao offers a unique direction for artistic creation. Famous American architects Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown wrote an architectural classic "Learning from Las Vegas" from their observations of Las Vegas, which became disruptive to architecture throughout the second half of the 20th century and made postmodern architecture a wave of architecture that swept the world. Macao's gambling industry is several times larger than that of Las Vegas. Its impact on the city’s architecture and landscape, and the changes to the city’s daily and recreational life are worth observing, learning, recording and representing. Through learning from Macao, we believe we can have a new concept of urban design of the 21st century. Drawing Architecture Studio will create a mega urban panorama with Macao as its theme by using our signature language of architectural axonometric drawing. With this work, we hope to make our contribution to such a magnificent vision.
