Artwork Description:

This installation was originally designed to float on the dock of Navy Yard No.1. While this is an indoor version of the installation, intended for a waterless dock. The dock generally refers to a place where a variety of boats are manufactured, including fishing boats, workboats, or to some people, boats that are dream chasers. On this dock, we don’t build ships, but instead, we build tables and chairs for dining purposes. We eat to survive, to satiate our appetite, and to pursue our dreams. A good appetite is a blessing: I don’t eat to survive but I survive to eat. While I am enjoying my food, I am also reminded of the people who are starving. In this installation, the tabletop of the dining table is tilted, turned upside down, and revolving, sliding off the food placed on it; and the seat of the chair is also tilted, forbidding one to sit on top of it and enjoy his food and leaving his stomach forever empty.
