Lei Ziren

Born in Jiangxi in 1967, Lei Ziren has a doctorate in literature and is a postdoctoral fellow in art. He has studied in the Central Academy of Fine Arts (for the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees), Tsinghua University (for the postdoctoral degree), and worked as a teacher at the Renmin University of China. Lei is a National First-Class Artist and member of the China Artists Association. He is now teaching at the School of Arts of Renmin University of China and serves as President of Jiangxi Art Academy and Director of Jiangxi Art Museum.

Lei Ziren is mainly engaged in Chinese painting creation and theoretical research as well as research on the 20th-century Chinese decorative art history, easel painting creation including contemporary ink wash painting, ceramic creation, contemporary Chinese rural social image production and research of its re-narration, etc.
