Born in Jiangxi in 1962, Lü Pinchang is the current Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor of Central Academy of Fine Arts, Director of the Chinese Artists Association, member of National Major Theme Art Creation Committee, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Sculpture Art Committee of Chinese Artists Association, Deputy Director of the Art Committee of the National Urban Sculpture Construction Steering Committee, and Deputy President of China Sculpture Institute. He has been granted with the Government Expert Allowances of the State Council since 1993. He is the recipient of New Century Support Program for Excellent Talents of the Ministry of Education of China.

From 1995 to September 2020, Lü Pinchang served as the Deputy Dean of the School of Plastic Arts and Head, Professor and doctoral advisor of the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
