Serge Onnen (b.1965, Paris), studied at Rijksakademie in Amsterdam and now works mainly with drawing, shadow and animation. In 2012, Onnen started researching Chinese shadow puppets in Beijing which led to several performances and exhibitions. He made a publication and two short films “Cloacinae” (2017 IFFR Tiger Award nomination) and “L’eau Faux” (Oberhausen Kurzfilmtage 2020; HKIFF2021) in collaboration with animator Sverre Fredriksen and composer Li Daiguo.
