From studying celestial bodies to exploring stars and galaxies, mankind has always tried to discover the origins of life and the laws of the universe. Inkvolution, a work of ink art generated by digital means blends contemporary ink painting on paper with generative art by computer and a cinematic narrative. By amplifying and strengthening the special texture produced by ink brushwork on rice paper, and through the abstract geometric structure representing the origins of the world, as well as a video script with macro narratives and the ethereal and pure contemporary sound effects, the work shows the tension of life and energy in the ink cosmos, as well as the vastness, power and mystery of the infinite universe.
 

Zhao Yanxiu
Zhao Yanxiu has a master’s degree in visual communication, from University of Macau and a bachelor’s degree in digital media, from Shenzhen University. His works have been selected to many international and national exhibitions, including "The 4th China Design Exhibition and Public Art Thematic Exhibition", "The Dimension of Perception – The 2022 Hong Kong-Macau Visual Art Biennale", "Hypothesis - A Genealogy of Contemporary Ink Painting in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao (2000-2022)", "Gaze of Shenzhen: New Media Art Exhibition", "Chania International Photo Festival" in Greece, etc. He has shown his art in the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning, Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Museum of Art, Macao Museum of Art, Art Museum of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and Jiangmen Art Gallery, among others. Zhao has won several international awards, including the WorldStar Packaging Award and the British Eco-Design Award.
