In today’s highly interconnected world by the Internet, a highly digitalised development trend emerges in death, the inevitable fate. People are gradually using the Internet to announce obituaries or host mourning ceremonies; what’s more, the deceased can, to some extent, achieve digital immortality in the virtual space, showing that digital media makes possible (virtual) life extension and immortality. 

Death has always caused anxiety in humans to varying degrees, but digital immortality challenges the existing concepts of mankind, re-establishing the consciousness pattern and order where "man is man".  "Who" might have the right to delete the life programme? In the process of infinite extension, technology is slowly gnawing at the inevitable fate.
 

Meng Tong
Nascido em 2001, Meng Tong estuda no programa de Bacharelato em Artes Visuais na Faculdade de Artes e Design da Universidade Politécnica de Macau, com especialização em Pintura a Óleo. Recebeu uma bolsa de estudos da Nam Kwong para 2019/2020 e uma bolsa do Banco da China para 2020/2021. Participou da 8ª Selecção de Novos Talentos da Arte Juvenil de Hangzhou e de exposições como "Harmonia no Coração – Jogos Asiáticos de 2022" e "Exposição de Pintura a Óleo do Dia Internacional da Mulher". Os seus trabalhos exploram sobretudo os fenómenos de grupo na era da Internet.
