The work title, 0, signifies returning to zero and embodying samsara, used by the artist to explore changes and reincarnation in human life. Mankind enters the endless cycle of life, death, and rebirth. The eight diagrams (Ba Gua) represent the different results when people use divination statistics to enquire about their destiny; but they may forget that after the cycle of time, they would sadly find the outcome of a certain event is pre-destined, cannot be altered. Nevertheless, the cycle gives us a chance to start over.

Both Buddhism and Taoism contemplate the idea of reincarnation, but is it true? In fact, disregarding religion and in terms of modern scientific research results, the ‘cause-effect cycle’ principle that “Good will be rewarded with good while evil with evil”, has been proved by actual data. Hence, we should bear in mind Buddha’s teaching, "do no evil, do only good", to avoid suffering from samsara.
 

Wong Kintong
Born in Macao in 2002, Wong Kin Tong, artistic name Tong Yeh, is currently studying in the Bachelor of Visual Arts program at the Faculty of Arts and Design, the Macao Polytechnic University, majoring in Chinese painting. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Macao, Guangxi, Guizhou, Taiwan, South Korea, and Italy. He held a solo exhibition in 2022, entitled "The Rest of Summer – Wong Kin Tong's Works". In 2023, he was awarded the Excellence Prize in the 1st "Like Sunrise – National College Students' Art Exhibition".
