The Cutorial Logic of Macao International Art Biennale

The planning of this Biennale should echo both the geographical and cultural identity of Macao, as well as the special moment of globalization and the issues of the global contemporary art world. How the Biennale selects artists and artworks, and how it organizes them into a narrative logic, is influenced by these three echoes. As the first Biennale in Macao, it also has the mission of setting the pattern for the subsequent Biennales. As a global phenomenon, the Biennale creates an active relationship with urban culture, both as a cultural site for local audiences and as an engagement with contemporary international cultural issues. The curator will explain the planning logic of this year's Biennale. Lecture will be conducted in Mandarin.
