Mok graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, at the CUHK. He obtained his Master of Fine Arts degree at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2004. He works as a part-time lecturer at the Department of Fine Arts, the CUHK, and also a full-time sculptor. Mok was the President of the Hong Kong Sculpture Society and is currently a member of the Sculpture Art Committee of the Guangdong Artists Association.

Exhibitions that Mok has organized includes “The Inter-city Sculpture Exchange Exhibition ( Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Macao and Taiwan)”, “Echo: Hong Kong Sculpture Biennial, 2010” and so on.

Recent solo exhibitions include “Contemplation of Lovingkindness II: Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition” (Hong Kong Museum of Art, 2017), “In the Midst of Ethereality and Oblivion: 2 Solo Exhibitions by Man Fung-yi & Mok Yat-san” (Redtory Guangzhou, 2015), “Falling Into A Trance: Solo Exhibitions by Man Fung-yi & Mok Yat-san” (Hong Kong Arts Centre, 2014). Important exhibitions in recent years include “Yi Pai – Century Mentality Exhibition” (Beijing Today Art Museum), “Art Basel in Hong Kong” etc.

Mok was the recipient of several awards and his art works are in such prestigious public collection as Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Redtory Museum of Contemporary Art, Hong Kong Legislative Council, Hong Kong Airport Authority, Hong Kong MTR Corporation, Hong Kong Tamar Park, Bank of China (Hong Kong), K11 Art Foundation, The Wharf Art Collection, The House Collective in Beijing, Chengdu International Finance Square, Pingshan Performing Art Center and private collectors.
