A member of IAC, International Academy of Ceramics, UNESCO, and was born in Faenza, Italy. One of Carlo Zauli’s pupils at the Istituto Statale d’Arte “Ballardini” in Faenza, Cimatti obtains a degree from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna. She had been teaching design at the Istituto d’Arte (State School of Ceramics) in Faenza since 1979 until September 2017. She is often invited to participate in international workshops and residencies as guest artist. In 2018, she served as a designer at Taoxichuan International Studio in Jingdezhen of China. She has obtained numerous awards and acknowledgments, in which the most prestigious honor is the silver prize of The 4th World Ceramic Biennale 2007 Korea International Competition. Her work has been shown internationally in exhibitions.
