Chen Baoyang is an artist who works at the intersection of art and technology. He graduated from Columbia University with a Master’s degree in 2016. Chen’s artistic composition originates from his thinking that technology is more than a means of creation, yet becoming a collaborator of artists. He often makes changes in the existing technology by altering its default application to further fulfill his artistic goal based on his creative thinking. He writes and researches on “Technology as Author”. By researching the ontology of technology, he explores the relationship between technology and artists as well as the public. His research has been published in conferences and journals of IJCAI, IEEE, and ACM. He is also a review member of EMNLP and served as the chairman of MMEDIA 2020 AI + Art.
