Luo Xiaocong was born in Yihuang, Jiangxi Province in 1964. In 1985, he was admitted to the College of Fine Art of the Jiangxi Normal University and graduated with the bachelor’s degree in 1989. In the same year, he took a job at Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute and served as a Professor and Master Supervisor of the School of Ceramic Art. As a leader in fine arts ceramic painting, Luo is also Director of Jiangxi Arts Association, Vice President of Jingdezhen Artists Association, the founder of ceramic painting with tiqing technique (carving out the colour of indigo with a knife).
