Herb Alpert is a passionate artist who is not only an abstract expressionist painter and sculptor, but also a Grammy-winning musician, renowned for his jazz music. In 1969, Alpert began painting and would go on to create sculptures in the early 1980s as he was influenced by the works of Henry Moore, Rodin and Giacometti. “The hardest part as an artist in any art form, is to find your own voice. Honesty is the running thread of all good artists,” Alpert says and continues to exhibit his work in California and around the world. Nine of Herb Alpert’s famed ‘Spirit Totems’ have been installed permanently at Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History.
