The mega international cultural and artistic feast “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025” (hereinafter referred to as “Art Macao 2025”) was inaugurated in July last year, featuring nearly 30 art exhibitions in 28 locations across six sections, namely the “Main Exhibition”, the “Public Art Exhibition”, the “City Pavilion”, the “Special Exhibition”, the “Local Curatorial Project” and the “Collateral Exhibition”, as well as nearly 770 activities’ sessions of the outreach programme, the event gathered over 160 artists from about a dozen countries and regions, attracting the participation of around 5 million spectators. This year’s Biennale innovated artistic narratives, revitalised historical spaces, engaged with community dynamics and inspired cultural vitality, transforming Macao into a city of Muses where life and art resonate in harmony.
The public artwork Not Terminal of the “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025” is currently on display at the Macao Cultural Centre Plaza, and all are welcome to visit.
The City Pavilion of “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025”, “Jinan Pavilion: The River is Surging” is open from today until 30 November at the Handover Gifts Museum of Macao. The exhibition features works by various Jinan artists, showcasing the profound heritage of Yellow River cilvilization and the contemporary vitality of Jinan, the “City of Springs”.
The “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025” presents nearly 30 exhibitions in six sections, namely the “Main Exhibition”, “Public Art Exhibition”, “City Pavilion”, “Special Exhibition”, “Local Curatorial Project” and various “Collateral Exhibition”. Among the highlights are the City Pavilions representing China and Portugal. The Pavilion of Portugal, “Pavilion of Vila Franca de Xira: The Reinvention of the Real - Portuguese Contemporary Art in the Museum of Neo-Realism Collection”, is currently open to the public at the Tap Seac Gallery. All are welcome to visit.
The mega international cultural and artistic event “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025” is currently presenting the Main Exhibition at the Macao Museum of Art. Outreach activities will continue to be held in September and October, including gallery concerts, a themed lecture and drama-based guided tours. All are welcome to participate.

The Main Exhibition of the mega international cultural and artistic feast “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale” (hereinafter referred to as “Art Macao 2025”) will be held from 19 July to 19 October at the Macao Museum of Art. The Main Exhibition, themed “Hey, what brings you here?”, invites the public to reflect on the history, memory and current complexities of Macao in a global context as well as exploring the nature of life. To extend artistic dialogues, two special activities will be launched on 19 July and the recruitment of “Twin Illusions” volunteers will continue, providing the participants with a unique interactive experience with the audience.
The Special Exhibition, presented by the six integrated resorts, is a distinct segment of the large-scale international cultural and artistic feast “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale” (Art Macao). This year’s Special Exhibition presents a kaleidoscopic art fair with unprecedented lineup and diversity of forms, featuring everything from the modernist enlightenment of Picasso’s prints and the interactive digital fireworks art of Cai Guo-Qiang and his custom-developed AI artist cAI™️ to Bruno Moinard’s deconstruction of the spatial poetics of French decorative arts; from the Haas Brothers’ light and shadow installations evoking industrial memory, Craig & Karl and multiple international contemporary artists’ whimsical exploration of dopamine aesthetics featuring the classic IP “Sesame Street” to the digital rebirth of Jingdezhen porcelain through 4K projections.
The mega international cultural and artistic event “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025” (hereinafter referred to as “Art Macao 2025”) will be held from July to October this year. The selected proposals will be awarded a subsidy in the maximum amount of MOP500,000 for the organisational expenses of the exhibition.
