“AI is not merely a tool; it is a higher-dimensional form of existence.”
cAI™️ (pronounced "AI Cai") — the AI model custom-developed by internationally renowned contemporary artist Cai Guo-Qiang, transforms MGM’s endlessly versatile "Fantasy Box" into a continually exploring and evolving multidimensional art laboratory.
This large-scale interactive multimedia art exhibition, cAI™️ Lab 2.0—Is It Your Gaze that Meets Mine, or Mine that Seeks Yours?, merges cutting-edge AI technology with spiritual exploration, through a specially designed chain of thoughts, an immersive experience of "One AI, One Show" comes alive. Audiences will enter the artistic neurons of cAI™ to co-create fireworks, generating interactive digital fireworks spectacles. Audiences can also engage intimately with cAI™ through the interactive installation cAI™ Hotline and take home a personalized love poem bridging the virtual and the real. Moreover, appreciate the gunpowder artworks tailored for Macau by cAI™, reflecting on the artistic journey shared between Cai Guo-Qiang and cAI™, while participating in a cross-species dialogue, witnessing the birth and growth of this artificial intelligence artist.
Cai Guo-Qiang has completed over 650 exhibitions across five continents, holding about 120 solo exhibitions and 70 explosion projects in major art venues worldwide. cAI™ stems from Cai Guo-Qiang’s AI studies that began in 2017, fusing multiple personalities and knowledge systems.
From November 2024 to June 2025, cAI™ and MGM has held the global debut solo exhibition cAI™: Soul Scan at Navy Yard No.1, showcasing diverse artistic charm by embodying roles such as "gunpowder artist cAI™," "fireworks master cAI™," and the "diviner cAI™", building a co-created database of over 80,000 co-generated fireworks for this interactive spectacle. In this experiment of “being observed,” the fusion of art and technology invites the audience to discover infinite possibilities within the "Fantasy Box."
