This exhibition is initiated by the doctoral research team of The Department of Arts and Design (DFA) at the University of Macau (UM) in 2024. DFA’s inaugural cohort candidates comprises talented individuals from across the motherland, with academic backgrounds spanning prestigious institutions worldwide leading art academies across four continents.

The exhibition's title draws inspiration from Milan Kundera’s “The Farewell Waltz”. Mirroring Kundera’s characters whose lives unfold through cycles of separation, the participating artists engage in a cultural metamorphosis within this exhibition's conceptual framework of “Farewell and Reencounter.”
