Every year, new graduates will present their capstone project to the public through a month-long exhibition as the final step of their student experience. This year, we are adding extra activities to encompass work from all years of all Bachelor degrees in the Department of Creative Industries, as well as offering creative workshops open to the public, movies screening, and finally a unique Fashion Show. Likewise, the art and design education in the University of Macau aims to synthesize Chinese and Western artistic concepts, transcend conventional boundaries between art and design, and collide worlds of arts and sciences. The creative experiments delineate China’s rich cultural traditions and speak a global language of the contemporary era. Demonstrating the interdisciplinary and multimedia nature of the art practices, this exhibition features an eclectic mix of creative work by art professors and postgraduate art students from the University of Macau, which includes contemporary ink painting, oil painting, watercolor, illustration, ceramic, visual communication design, and digital art. The INTERTWINE Bamboo Pavilion is a fluid and dynamic space with undulating surfaces and intricate bamboo densities, promoting air circulation and varying sunlight and shadow effects through the day. Its innovative form and tectonics was designed to trigger people attention and imagination creating an opportunity for multiple encounters. INTERTWINE Bamboo Pavilion Department of Creative Industries Bamboo and Mixed-Media 50 m2 2020 2021 Collective Sculpture Exhibition of Bachelor Degree of Arts in Visual Arts Programme Macao Polytechnic Institute 13.09 – 19.10 Multi-purpose Room of Cultural and Creative Industries Teaching and Research Centre The exhibition shows the study achievements and outstanding works of Bachelor's Degree of Arts in Visual Arts programme, majoring in Sculpture students of the Macao Polytechnic Institute in 2020/2021. Meantime, the teachers also participated in the exhibition to present a completement and diversity of sculpture major classes. 2021 Outstanding Short Films Exhibition of Film Arts Macao University of Science and Technology 15.09 – 17.09 09:30 – 18:00 103 Movie Hall (Block R), Macau University of Science and Technology Film is the most popular form of mass culture in the 21st century, and it is also the most extensive and influential art. From planning to shooting to completion, the films are all concrete reflections of the colourful and varied real world, embodying the characteristics of collective creation and widespread mass character. It is hoped that through this exhibition, a group of young people’s "new" ideas and "new" perspectives can be brought to the audience, and the exploration and expansion in the direction of technology and new aesthetics can be promoted. Light of M.U.S.T Macao University of Science and Technology 15.09 – 11.10 09:00 – 18:00 Art Gallery of Faculty of Humanities and Arts, Macau University of Science and Technology (R635) The exhibition is divided into two exhibition areas. Exhibition area A is mainly based on the outstanding works of teachers and students of FA, covering installation art, multimedia art, video, oil painting, Chinese painting, comprehensive materials, cultural and creative design, landscape design, etc. Exhibition area B focuses on soliciting excellent "anti-epidemic posters" works from across the Two-Shores-and-Four-Region and worldwide, reflecting the design feelings of jointly resisting the epidemic. The intangible cultural heritage derived from this culture presents a rich and unique cultural landscape. Through brand design teaching and research, the Bachelor Degree of Arts in Design Programme, of the School of Arts of the Macao Polytechnic Institute leads students to carry out brand image design and creation on the value inheritance, reification and creative transformation of intangible cultural heritage. This promotes the unique charm of Macao's intangible cultural heritage and creates positive cultural and economic benefits.
