All That’s Gold Does Glitter
An Exhibition of Glamorous Ceramics
Ceramic art culture has a long history. As early as the 16th century, Macao had become an important base for the trade of Chinese and Western porcelain on the Maritime Silk Road.
Sands China Ltd. participates in “Art Macao: International Art Exhibition” with a company-wide exhibition themed “All That’s Gold Does Glitter”, to showcase over 90 art pieces from 27 internationally renowned contemporary ceramic artists. Inspired by the idea that “All That’s Gold Does Glitter” – a variation on the title of J. R. R. Tolkien’s poem from The Lord of the Rings – curator Ms. Caroline Yi Cheng has invited the famous ceramic artists to create works on a “Golden” theme.
The art pieces will be placed within the properties of The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, Sands Macao and Four Seasons Hotel Macao. With “Golden” being the theme of the exhibition, famous artists from all over the world will bring a contemporary presentation of their respective ceramic artworks. The assembly of Eastern and Western pottery works shines at the properties of Sands China and reproduces its brilliance.
